View depicting the four-and-one-half story building of the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company built 1850-1851 after the designs of Gordon Parker Cummings at 129 South Third Street. A statue of William Penn adorns the alcove above the doorway. A man enters the building near a man at the foot of the entryway. On the sidewalk, in the right, two men and a boy converse. The men wear top hats and overcoats. The boy wears a suit and a cap. Building was demolished in 1956.
