Vignettes at the bottom of the print show clusters of farm animals, including cows, pigs, and fowl; a man providing a bowl of feed to a couple of horses with a foul in a fenced pasture in front of a house; and a farmer plowing his field. Graphic elements in the upper corners include farm implements, tools, and equipment, including shovels, pitchforks, sickles, rakes, and a grinding implement. Also includes a vignette depicting the state seal. Flowers, produce, and vinery border the graphics and surround the text of the certificate. Description: Membership certificate containing a border of vignettes and scenes related to agriculture, horticulture, and industrial arts. Floral pictorial elements, a beehive, and watering can surround the scenes and vignettes. Shows farmers loading hay on a wagon; the coat of arms of Pennsylvania; a Victorian-style farm house; cows and horses at pasture; and figures representing agriculture, a blacksmith, and a sailor. The female agricultural figure sits and holds a sickle and a bale of wheat near an arrangement of farm produce. The artisan, holds a hammer, and stands over an anvil. The sailor, holds a spy glass, and sits next to a crate, barrels, and an anchor. Land and marinescapes are visible behind the figures. Description: Diploma depicting six vignettes and graphic elements symbolizing agriculture and horticulture separated into distinct scenes by borders designed as trees and foliage. At the top, a winged, female allegorical figure, attired in a robe and laurel wreath, sits with her arms outstretched over a shield surmounted by an eagle. She holds a bugle in her left hand and a laurel wreath in her right, and she reaches in the direction of two horses that flank the shield. Images of a railroad locomotive crossing a stone arch bridge (left) and a waterfront industrial complex (right) flank the winged figure. On the sides, scenes depict cattle and sheep grazing, men harvesting a field with a horse-drawn reaper, and a man feeding horses near a large bale of hay. At the bottom, tools and agricultural products surround the society's blind stamp, and include farm produce, scythes, pitchforks and wheelbarrows. Description: Fair certificate containing vignettes and scenes related to agriculture, horticulture, and industrial arts. At the top, a female allegorical figure, sits upon a rug-covered throne with her arms outstretched. She is flanked by symbols of agriculture, including wheat, farm produce, and livestock. On the sides, vignettes depict tools and products of the book arts and fine arts, a threshing machine, a steam locomotive, and stems of flowers, and a grape vine. At the bottom, a historical scene of Egyptians slaves, in front of the pyramids and under the view of an overseer, cutting wheat with sickles is contrasted to a farmer harvesting his field with a horse-drawn reaper. Description: Shows the well-attended fair on grounds landscaped with dirt paths and a track, tenanted by tents and sheds adorned with American flags, and enclosed by a white fence. Visitors enter by foot, on horseback, and carriage through an arched opening near the "Ticket Office" as a lone carriage departs through the opposite exit way. Throngs of people spill out from the temporary shelters while individuals ride horseback, travel in carriages, and rest on a mound of dirt nearby. Also shows horses racing on the track and trees lining the back of the property in the background. Description: View of the fair buildings and heavily trafficked grounds enclosed by a wood fence. In the foreground, outside of the grounds, pedestrian and street traffic is visible. Horse-drawn carriages and wagons travel in the street near pedestrians, including a woman walking her dog on the sidewalk. Horse-drawn omnibuses arrive at and depart from the multiple entrances to the fair at Fifteenth Street near a Philadelphia & Reading Railroad train arriving at the "Special Station." Within the grounds, visitors stroll on the paths between and enter the several exhibition buildings, including the Main Building (center), Restaurant, House of Public Comfort, Carriage and Wagon House, and Poultry House. Agricultural implements, fountains, and shrubbery adorn the grounds.
