- Description
- Exterior view of the brick wing that was home to the Senate in the Stephen Hills-designed capitol building. Hills designed the building in 1819. The building burned in 1897, and another capitol building was hastily constructed after designs by Henry Ives Cobb. Dissatisfaction with the new building prompted another design competition, which Joseph M. Huston won. His building was constructed from 1902 to 1906 and still stands in Harrisburg today., Title inscribed in negative., Photographer's label pasted on verso., James H. Windrim and his son John T.
