County meeting! Freemen of Northampton County! You are earnestly requested to attend the county convention of the Friends of the Union, at C.L. Whitesell's Hotel, L. Nazareth, on Saturday, Sep. 12, 1863. Let the friends of Gov. Curtin rally from every township! Ex-Gov. Randall of Wisconsin, and Hon. Chales [sic] Gibbons, of Philadelphia, both able and eloquent speakers, will address the meeting. A general turn out is earnestly desired, to nominate a strong and popular ticket! Sept. 9, 1863

Let all the friends of the gallant Curtin, the friends of the government, and the friends of the soldiers, come! Let all opposed to surrendering our government as bequeathed to us by our heroic fathers, into the hands of traitors, come! Come not as Democrats, not as Republicans, but as American citizens, proud of the past and hopeful of the future of your country, and rally 'round the flag!
