The 99th Regiment Infantry of the Pennsylvania Volunteers was organized from July 1861 to Jan. 1862, under command of Col. Romaine Lujeane until Nov. 7, 1861, then Col. Thomas W. Sweeney until Jan. 24, 1862; it was mustered out July 1, 1865; Frank Hoguet was captain of Company K until his resignation Feb. 17, 1862; Thomas R. Birch died at Alexandria, Va., Jan. 5, 1862. Cf.
