View looking from a pathway showing the shelter of the sculpture completed by sculptor James Thom circa 1836 in the central courtyard of the cemetery at 3822 Ridge Avenue. The partially visible sculpture, inspired by Sir Walter Scott's novel "Old Mortality," depicts Scott conversing with the main character of his novel, an elderly itinerant Scotsman who re-carved names on gravestones, seated on a tombstone near his horse.
