Office of the Adams Express Comp'y. 320 Chestnut St. Philadelphia, January 27, 1862 The Adams Express Co. having enlarged their facilities at Washington, D.C., by building a railroad depot, and having acquired additional capacity for transportation, are now prepared to forward heavy express freights, packages and parcels to Washington, Georgetown, Alexandria, Annapolis, Frederick, Adamstown, Fortress Monroe, and other places south occupied by the army, at greatly reduced rates. Special agreements made for merchandise in large lots. Sutler's goods and army supplies at satisfactory prices, on application at our office. Soldier's parcels taken at much less than our usual rates. Heavy and bulky packages received and receipted for at our depot, S.E. corner Broad and Locust Streets

Harnden's southern express office, No. 607 Chestnut Street The Harnden express, at the earnest solicitation of its numerous customers, has been extended to Baltimore and Washington and are now prepared to forward to above named cities. Also, to Alexandria, Fortress Monroe, Hatteras Inlet, Port Royal, &c. Soldiers' freights taken at extremely low rates. They have greatly increased their facilities on their old established line to New York, Boston and the East, and having removed to their present commodious office, are determined to use every exertion to satisfy all who may favor them with their patronage. All kinds of collecting and commissions attended to. Money and valuables forwarded at unusually low rates. The greatest dispatch given to freights. Howard & Co's northern & western express Howard & Co. have also removed to same office, and will forward to all towns in Northern Pennsylvania. Also, to Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, and all points North and West, or Canada West
