Demokraten, welche die Union lieben leset, was die Rebellen-Zeitung Charleston mercury ihren Lesern sagt: "Wenn wir halten, was wir haben, und weitere militärische Erfolge underer Feinde verhindern, so ist jede Aussicht vorhanden, dass McClellan erwä hlt werden wird, und seine Erwählung auf die Chicago Platform muss zum Frieden und zu underer Unabhängigkeit führen! Die Erwählung McClellan's ist also die letzte Hoffnung, welche die Rebellion aufrecht erhält, un Rebellen-Soldaten werden zu dem Zwecke in die Schlacht geführt, um McClellan und Pendleton zu unterstützen. Wollt Ihr den Rebellen die Hand bieten und ihnen helfen die Union niederzubrechen? Wenn ihr das wollt, so stimmt dat Demokratische Ticket!!

Es meint, dass wir den Sü̈den um einen Friedensvertrag bitten sollen; die erste Bedingung, unter welcher sie verlangten, dass ihre Unabhä̈ngigkeit anerkannt werden sollte. Es meint, dass wir das halbe Territorium der Union an sie abtreten sollen, und den ü̈brigen Theil unter solchen Bedingungen behalten, wie sie es fü̈r gut finden. Was is die Meinung von einer Theilung der Union? Es meint zwei oder mehr militä̈rische Nationen in fortwährendem Kriege mit einander. ... Bürger, bedenkt, wenn Ihr dafür stimmt, Ihr Eure Stimme abgebt für das demokratische Ticket!

Loyal mass meeting of the 15th Ward! Lincoln, Johnson, Kelley, and the whole Union ticket! A grand mass meeting of the loyal citizens of the Fifteenth Ward in favor of the present administration and a vigorous prosecution of the war and the election of Lincoln & Johnson to the presidency and vice-presidency, will be held on Wednesday evening, October 5th, 1864, at 8 o'clock, at the cor. of Eighteenth and Green Sts. Union League House, No. 1216 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, October 20th, 1864 Dear sir, We have reason to believe that you will agree with us in regarding the soldiers' vote, at the coming presidential election, as of the highest importance. It is known that many votes were lost at the late state election, from inattention to the provisions of the law passed on the 25th of August last, regulating elections by soldiers in actual military service. Any measures which may be adopted by the State Committee, by the Union League, which we represent, or by other patriotic bodies working in cordial co-operation with both, will be of no avail, unless the soldier is made secure of his right to vote
