Two of the nine items in this collection appear to be machine-cut paper lace. These two items are also embossed. The remaining items appear to have been made using scissors, usually after folding. One is cut in the style of traditional Scherenschnitte, and shows two birds in silhouette., Cataloging funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (PW-506-19-10), 2010-2012., This collection includes paper lace and Scherenschnitte found in books that are part of the Library Company's collections. The books in which they were found are not identified. Since the mid 1980s, the Library Company no longer separates such materials without tracking the connection through accession numbers. This collection gathers items from several sources, and is open to new additions.
