Reading circles. [To commence in early October.] These are intended to give variety and interest to a course of instruction in English Literature and are designed for families, or for young ladies who have completed the usual education at school. The exercises attended to by these circles, consist of the reading and analysis of select passages from the most eminent writers of the language, and are accompanied by explanatory and critical observations from the instructor, on the distinctive qualities of style by which each author is characterized, and on the mode of elocution by which these are appropriately expressed. The members of reading circles attend, twice a week, at each other's residence, in rotation or otherwise, as is found convenient, [or at the instructor's house, 96 S. Eighth Str.] Terms.
