Description Glass negative showing a field filled with lilies at General Russell Hastings' residence in Bermuda. A line of trees behind the field forms the background of the photograph. Hastings and his wife Emily, neice of President Hayes, built Soncy in 1883. Hastings raised Easter lilies to send back to the United States and was a major contributor to the lilie industry through the 1890s.
