Description
View showing the Susquehanna Bridge, known as the Rockville Bridge, spanning the Susquehanna River at Rockville, Pa. The wood bridge used by the Middle Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad, was completed in 1849 by contractors Holman, Simon & Burke and Daniel Stone. The bridge was removed and replaced in 1877. View also shows two boys standing on the riverbank in the foreground.

Anthony operated his New York stereoscopic firm as a sole proprietor from 1859 to 1860. He produced a primary series of views and specialized sets of views with negative numbers in the 600 range before establishing the partnership, E. & H.T. Anthony & Co., with his brother in 1860.
