Notes
Title supplied by cataloguer, from a description of a duplicate in the Historical Society of Pennsylvania's collections, reproduced in Maxine Benson's Martha Maxwell: Rocky Mountain naturalist (Lincoln: University of Nebraska Press, c1986).
Martha Maxwell opened her Rocky Mountain Museum in 1874 in Boulder, Colorado, and moved it to Denver in 1876. She hoped her museum would advance scientific education, but also display curiosities and other amusements to attract the general public.
See Maxine Benson's Martha Maxwell: Rocky Mountain Naturalist (Lincoln: University of Nebraska Press, c1986).
