Description
Illustrated envelope for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition held in honor of the centennial anniversary of the Louisiana Purchase in St. Louis, Mo., April 30-December 1, 1901. Shows the Palace of Machinery built after the designs of Windman, Walsh & Boisselier. A fountain adorns the grounds across which vistors stroll and sit on benches. The machinery building contained exhibits related to advancements in technology, as well as the generator built by General Electric to power the entire exhibition.
