Image of a barefoot boy with his hat in his hand facing a woman at the threshold of a building; the woman wears a bonnet and carries a folded parasol; behind the woman are hats and a coat, which may hang on pegs near the entrance; a second woman stands beside and slightly behind the boy, with one hand placed on a doorknob and the other holding something loosely at her side.
