Description
Bust-length portrait of the white Philadelphia physician, medical school professor, and a president of the Pennsylvania Anti-Slavery Society. Wistar is depicted seated at a desk, on top of which are a set of books. He holds a sheet of paper in his left hand. He is attired in a shirt with a ruffled collar, vest, and jacket.
