Commemorative print after the 1851 painting by Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze depicting General Washington's famous campaign across
the icy Delaware River above Trenton on Christmas Eve 1776. A stoic Washington stands at the head of the lead rowboat surrounded
by several of his dedicated men, including a white man soldier holding the American flag and the African American oarsman
Prince Whipple, enslaved man and bodyguard to Washington Aide, General William Whipple. In the background, boats with the
remaining troops and horses are visible.
