Description View of the "Herefords" shed and three herefords (a type of cattle bred for market) on view during the livestock display at the Centennial Exhibition of 1876 in Philadelphia. The cattle display was held under the auspices of the Department of Agriculture from September 21st until October 4th. A number of men stand around the shed and near the cattle and look at the viewer. An African American man holds the bridle of one of the steer on display before the shed.
