Description
Aerial views of the Allied Chemical & Dye Corporation, General Chemical Division plant on the banks of the Cooper and Delaware Rivers in Camden, New Jersey. The corporation (later known as Allied Chemical Corporation and then as the Allied Corporation) was formed in 1921 as an amalgamation of five of the largest U.S. chemical companies established in the 1800s. These views show what was originally the General Chemical sulfuric acid plant. The facility is shown from several angles, including vertical views from high altitude. A variety of factory buildings are visible, as are ships on the river, railroad tracks servicing the area and row homes in adjacent residential areas.
