Description Membership certificate for the fraternal, nativist organization containing patriotic vignettes and pictorial details adorning and bordering an ornamented arch. Includes portraits of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin in addition to state seals, the figures of Liberty and Justice, American flags, and the American eagle and shield. OUAM, founded in Philadelphia in 1845 as the Union of Workers, was an anti-immigration, anti-Catholic benevolent society that provided its white, native-born members with sick and funeral funds.
