Description
Exterior view showing the company's central office building, known as the American Building. A couple exits the building while a gentleman walks past. Incorporated in 1850, the company was formed in part to further the cause of temperance by offering considerable discounts to signers of the total abstinence pledge. Company occupied this building from 1854 to 1888.
