Description
Views depict men in racing shells on the Schuylkill River during the International Regatta in August or September of 1876 during the Centennial celebration. Includes C.E. Courtney from Union Springs, New York; R.H. Labat, F.S. Gulston, A. Trower, and J. Howell (Stroke) from the London Rowing Club; T.J. Gorman (Stroke), R.T. Gorman, J.H. McEntee, and J.T. McCormick of the Beaverwyck Crew; and four men from the Thames Rowing Club. The Centennial Exhibition celebrated the centennial of the United States through an international exhibition of industry, agriculture, and art from May 10 to October 10, 1876.
