In Lee, Henry W. Cornelia, or, the Deaf mute (Rochester, 1853), frontispiece.
Miss Cornelia Lathrop, born deaf, attended the New York Institution for the Deaf and Dumb where she learned how to read and write. She died at age seventeen due to complications from the measles.
