Description
Advertisement for the calico printers showing a sepulchral monument composed of three mourning female figures attired in Roman garb beside a casket. The business, established in 1836 in the Falls of Schuylkill by William Simpson, was renamed William Simpson & Sons from "The Washington Print Works" in 1869. In 1877, the firm was incorporated as Eddystone Manufacturing Company.
