Description
Glass negative showing three rowboats, each carrying a group of people, floaing on Lake Hopatcong. The boats travel next to a wooden bridge, and their reflections are mirrored in the calm water. Lake Hopatcong, the largest freshwater body in New Jersey, became a popular resort destination after rail service came to the area in 1882. By the 1940s and 1950s, it had become mostly residential.
