Description
Glass negative showing Trinity Church Oxford, a brick building with a steeple designed by Frank Furness (1839-1912) in the Olney section of Philadelphia. A low stone wall stands in front of the church across from the street. A gate leads into the church cemetary and trees stand on either side of the wall. Church services were first held on this site in 1698 in a log meeting house belonging to the Oxford Society of Friends. Trinity Church Oxford received the deed to the land in 1700. The oldest portion of the church building was completed in 1711. Frank Furness designed additions to the church in the late 19th century.
