Description |
Half-length, forward facing portrait of an African American woman seated on a chair. Sitter has long, dark hair, parted in
the middle, and tied behind her head. She is attired in a dark-colored, diagonally striped, long-sleeved dress with a lace
collar, a brooch, and a long necklace. She rests her left arm on a table covered with a patterned tablecloth, and her right
hand rests on her lap. Sitter is probably a member or acquaintance of the Dickerson Family of Philadelphia.
