Description Glass negative showing the brew house at Haddon House, a two-story brick building with three doors on the front facade and closed windows. Mrs. Wood stands next to a storm cellar and knocks on the center door. Other smaller buildings flank the brew house and trees grow to the left. The Haddon House is named after Elizabeth Haddon (1680-1762) who immigrated to the United States in 1701 to manage property her father had bought in the colonies, later Haddonfield. In 1702, she married John Estaugh (d. 1742), a Quaker missionary. The brew house where Haddon concocted medicinal recipes was the last original building still standing into the 21st century. Haddon House was owned by the Wood family from 1831 to nearly the 20th century.
