Description
Cityscape view looking northwest from the hotel LaPierre House (southwest corner Broad and Sansom) showing the Logan Square area. Includes a "wood mouldings steam turning mill and hydrant manufactory"; a hardware store, and the steeple of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul (1708-1720 Summer Street).

Originally part of a McAllister scrapbook of views of Philadelphia.

Biographical / historical note
The Langenheim brothers, William and Frederick, were pioneer photographers and stereograph publishers, who operated a photographic studio in Philadelphia from the 1840s to 1874 and the death of William.
