Description
Aerial view of the S.S. Manhattan on the Delaware River. The ship was built by the the New York Shipbuilding Corporation, which is visible along the Camden, New Jersey waterfront. In 1941, the Manhattan was requisitioned and leased by the US Navy, and was subsequently commissioned as the troopship USS Wakefield. Image probably taken July 1932.
