Description
View showing the large monument in the cemetery at 3900 Woodland Avenue. The monument is comprised of a stone canopy enshrining a sculpted figure kneeling at a cross atop a pedestal. The canopy is adorned by an urn and the monument is surrounded by a stone enclosure. Also shows the Woodlands Mansion, built 1742, remodeled and enlarged between 1787 and 1790 for William Hamilton, in the right background. The estate was purchased in 1840 by the Woodlands Cemetery Company.
