Morris' mother Martha Canby Morris, sister Elizabeth Canby Morris, aunt Anne Canby, granduncle Edward Bellah, and grandaunt Hetty Bellah gathered on a porch, likely at the Morris family home Avocado. The majority of the group sit on chairs while Elizabeth Morris stands in profile behind them. The women wear long dark dresses and hats while Edward Bellah wears a three-piece suit and hat.

There is a crack down the entire left side of the negative and it has been reinforced with an extra pane of glass.
