Description
View from Jones hotel on the south side of the 600 block of Chestnut Street showing the construction lot for Jayne's Marble Building (615-619 Chestnut) on the north side. Lot on the former site of the Arcade Hotel. Also shows Decatur Street below Market and partial views of the 600 blocks of Jayne and Market streets. Includes "Morrell's Carpenter Shop" (611 Jayne), laborers, broadsides pasted on building rubble, and businesses on Market.
