Biographical / historical note In 1877, William M. Burk and John R. M'Fetridge purchased the Inquirer Printing Office at 304 Chestnut Street from William W. Harding. The Burk & McFetridge partnership operated from the second and fourth floors of the building until relocating next door to 306-308 Chestnut Street in 1884.
