Advertisement showing a view of the glue and animal product manufactories of Charles Baeder on a lot of land on the 1700 block
of North Sixth Street. Includes the seven-story glue works with cupola and the smaller multi-story starch, hide whip, and
curled hair factory. Two outbuildings with active smoke stacks stand between the factories. Trees and bushes are visible on
the property. A horse-drawn cart travels in the foreground. The firm, established in 1828 by Baeder, became the premier manufacturer
of its kind in the United States. The manufactory, of the firm later renamed Baeder, Adamson & Co., relocated to Richmond
Street, Allegheny Avenue, and Westmoreland Street circa 1866.
