C. Church erected in the State of Pennsylvania. Founded by the Society of Jesus and rendered memorable as the first temple in which the Hymn of Thanksgiving was chanted to the God of armies in the presence of Washington & his military staff and the representatives of France & the United States, for the blessing bestowed on the infant Republic in the struggle for right & liberty.
