Description
Depicts an equestrian statue of a man about to pierce a lion with his spear. Designed by Albert Wolff in 1858 and was cast in bronze by Bureau Brothers in 1893 for the Columbian Exposition. Later placed in front of the Post Office at Ninth and Chestnut Streets. Moved to East River Drive in 1897. Currently located at the foot of the Art Museum steps, near the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
